Isso porque o acontecimento de um déjà vu é imprevisível.

Déjà vu no cérebro humano: como se deu o experimento?

Os pesquisadores ditavam aos voluntários uma série de palavras do mesmo assunto (como noite, descanso, cama, travesseiro, pijama) sem indicar o tema principal (sono); depois, os entrevistados eram perguntados se tinham ouvido alguma palavra com a letra “s” e os pesquisadores afirmavam que não haviam dito.

Em seguida, os voluntários eram questionados sobre terem ouvido ou não a palavra “sono” e, mesmo sabendo que não, eles afirmaram sentir um déjà vu, resultante do contexto das palavras verdadeiramente ouvidas. O mapeamento cerebral dos participantes indicou uma ativação nas áreas frontais do cérebro, ligadas à tomada de decisões, no momento dos déjà vus.

Déjà vu no cérebro humano: a conclusão dos pesquisadores

Os pesquisadores esperavam inicialmente que as regiões associadas à memória fossem afetadas, o que não aconteceu, provando que o déjà vu não é um “replay” de uma memória já ocorrida. Na verdade, durante o fenômeno, o cérebro verifica se o sistema de “checagem de memória” está funcionando bem e mostra ser improvável confundir ou esquecer eventos.

Matrix e o déjà vu

No filme Matrix (1999), o protagonista Neo tem déjà vus com um gato preto e eventualmente entende que o fenômeno acontece, dentro da mitologia, devido à alterações na Matrix.
